* For this trip, you must arrive in Flagstaff in time for a 7:00 p.m. orientation meeting the night before your trip at the Woodlands Hotel. This night’s stay will be an additional cost.
* On the day of your trip, you will board a van at 7:00 a.m. for the 2.5-hour drive to the put in point at Lee’s Ferry.
* On your 7th day you will arrive at Phantom Ranch* after lunch. This night’s stay and all of your meals are included in the trip cost. To take advantage of the mule duffel service that is also included in the trip cost, you will rise early on the seventh day, eat breakfast, and drop off your duffel for the mules by 6:30 a.m. Most people start their hike out between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. You will be able to pick up your duffel at the Livery Stables between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. If you want to stay this night at the South Rim it will be an additional cost and transportation back to Flagstaff the next day will also be an additional cost.
*Please Note: Accommodations at Phantom Ranch are extremely difficult to get and occasionally we must modify our trips slightly. On these modified trips you will camp with the group just upstream of Phantom (rather than spending the night in the dorms), have dinner and breakfast, then be brought into Phantom Ranch very early the next morning so you can drop off your gear for the mules. You‰Ûªll be given a boxed lunch for the trail by your trip leader. If Phantom is not available on your trip, a special notice will appear on your confirmation letter (and all subsequent letters you receive from us) stating that it is not available for your trip.
